l The Chair Speaks
Welcome to a new sailing season, which has already had its fair share of excitement and broken masts. 2001 promises to be even more competitive than last year, with a new batch of 'plastic fantastics' ordered from the UK. Congratulations to all the new owners.Welcome to all our new members - hoping to see you all at the events around the country, commencing with the national championships in June.
Many thanks to everyone who helped to make Skerries 2000 a great success. Congratulations to those who made their mark in Thailand (on the water and otherwise) and good luck to the Italia 2001 team.
A word on safety: to ensure that everyone enjoys the 2001 sailing season, please remember to check that all Fireballs have returned to the slip-way after a race, before you leave. Failure of a boat to return should be reported to the race committee / rescue.
Have a wonderful season - see you all on the start line.
