The National Championship 2014 began on May 31st with 19 boats ready at the starting line, welcome guest the swiss team Haerdi-Landerer.
Main players sun, wind and a beautiful sea, not to mention the excellent work of jury and the club staff, granted three perfect days of regattas. 8 races with one race score excluded, wind conditions varying from light to medium intensity and one dominator: the swiss team. With 4 first places and other excellent placements won the final rank with one race in advance.
Italian Champions 2014, Leone-Campati, with regular results never over the 4th place. Second place for the team Palermi-Capizzi, winner of the first race with a flying start. Third Leone-Roselli. Their up and down results (2 first places), were a clear sign of a (new) boat still needing some adjustments.
"Classic boat" price to Galletti-Bertini. The stainless team still have his say!
Deserving a mention, the excellent performance of the young team Zorzi-Maero 5th in the rank (4th of the italian teams), Maero-Messineo (12nd with a great 2nd place in the second race) and the new entry Tentoni-Tondella, coached by Rigazio.
Four mixed crews, with a great welcome back to Sante Marino with his very good crew Daria and a special mention to Isabella, member of the team Rossi-Giarda, ….for her patience!
Thanks to the beautiful location, a great time even for the families who decided to follow the racers in this competition. May be Punta Ala will soon see again the " fire balls"? We hope so!
