Fireball Class Rules, 2003 - Amendments

  • 20.3.7 Batten pocket patches shall not exceed 320mm in any direction.

  • 25 PROPULSION
    The following rules alter RRS 42 and shall only apply to World and Continental Championships and other events as agreed with Fireball International and shall be specified in the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions.
  • 25.1If the average wind speed is above 12 knots, the race committee may display flag O with the warning signal to signal that pumping, rocking and ooching are allowed after the starting signal.
  • 25.2After the starting signal, if the average wind speed is above 12 knots, the race committee may display flag O with repetitive sounds at any rounding mark to signal that pumping, rocking and ooching are allowed. This rule applies to a boat after she has passed the mark.
  • 25.3If the race committee has acted under class rule 25.1 or 25.2 and the average wind speed becomes less than 12 knots, the race committee may display flag R with repetitive sounds at any rounding mark to signal that RRS 42 applies. This rule applies to a boat after she has passed the mark.
