Jackie Barker is our new Class Secretary.
Jackie has previous experience of being a secretary for the J24
and Fireball classes. She comes from a sailing family; her father
was secretary of the International Enterprise class for 30 years,
her brother Ian is a champion in several classes including the
Enterprise and J24 and she is married to Andy Barker who is a
Fireball Champion and has also been a Fireball builder. Jackie is a
pretty mean sailor too, a World Champion in the Enterprise
Class, she currently sails a Fireball with her husband.
Will Moody is our new Development and Marketing officer.
Will is an Event Management professional. He has been involved
in Football World cups, Olympics and has worked for the Fireball
class in South Africa, Ireland and the UK.
Both Jackie and Will are active Fireball sailors and have
volunteered for these positions, with no financial reward. They are
both very highly qualified for these jobs, both have previous
experience of this type of work. We are incredibly lucky to have
them on board.
With the Executive now fully manned we can put the disputes behind
us and start to deliver the changes needed to sustain and grow our
class. These Executive appointments will now be submitted to the
Fireball Council for ratification.
