At last a breeze! Although not quite up to the forecasted gusts of 25 knots plus last night's DBSC racing was held in fantastic conditions with peaks of 20 knots in Scotsmans Bay while further out the Dublin Bay Buoy recorded gusts of 28 knots. A beautiful warm evening greeted the five Fireballers which made it to the start line, just beyond the harbour entrance in a filling tide. Read More >

The 2016 Harken Fireball Inland championship took place over the weekend of the 11th and 12th June. With a forecast that was about as inspiring as a walk in the rain entries were a little depleted. However, those that made the trip were not disappointed as the forecast turned out to be wrong. After arriving Saturday morning to no wind a breeze from the south west kicked in and provided the fleet with three full on trapezing races. Read More >

The level of competition was remarkable given that a relatively small ten boat fleet made it up to the Ulsters. The event was dominated by Noel Butler/Stephen Oram who won five of the six races, and by Conor and James Clancy snapping at their heels with one bullet and a string of seconds. But the rest of the fleet immediately behind enjoyed extremely close racing. It was nip and tuck throughout the event with places changing on each leg of the courses and several finishes with a second or two between a string of finishers. Read More >

The Fireball fleet were greeted with some unseasonable weather for the first day of the Annual Grafham open. Freezing rain and a strong Northerly wind welcomed the hardy as they rigged their boats. By launch time the rain had stopped but so had the wind. Read More >
