The decision to race the Frostbites on St. Patrick’s Day, 17th March, neither attracted a big fleet nor nice weather. The smallest Fireball fleet of the entire series, 9 boats, was greeted by damp grey, flat conditions and no obvious sign of the means to have a race. Read More >

The Hermanus Grand Slam was held on the weekend of 16th - 17th February. The event had a good turn out with 7 Fireballs forming part of the multi class regatta. Congratulations to David Laing who won the Fireballs. Read More >

The Class Boat was in action at the Tiger Trophy last weekend managing a very respectable 12th place out of 210 boats in the hands of Matt and Vyvo - who both admit the boat was hampered by their 'rustiness'! Read More >

Blustery conditions in Dun Laoghaire harbour yesterday made the day's Frostbite race more challenging than might normally be the case, for in addition to trying to work out the right way round the course, the wind conditions meant that staying upright also became a significant challenge. The gales of the last two Frostbite Sundays disappeared towards the end of last week which meant that racing was a distinct possibility as the weekend arrived. And so it turned out that 11 Fireballs were able to get on the water for the first time in three weeks. The winds however, were replaced by continuous rain, as predicted on the BBC forecast the night before, a blanket of rain coming in on Saturday night and covering the country throughout Sunday.
